The island studio became LYAG's first international project and took shape inside an unfinished villa. Together with KOZEEN + RUEDA, we decided to keep its original state: the exposed concrete, the incompleteness and the strange geometry of the building were not disguised but made the foundation of the space.

Inside there are twelve separate massage capsules. They stand like little houses in a village, with narrow streets and small squares with art objects between them. The rough shell of the building collides with the smooth, almost artificial surfaces of the capsules. Their shades follow the different colors of human skin, from the very lightest to the darkest. The rounded openings recall the folds of the body under the pressure of hands.

Each capsule draws a temporary boundary between a person and the outside world.
